Multi -Instrumentalist
David Millard

David Millard, a blonde, blue eyed original Pacific Beach surfer from the 19- - - -, is subtle and bold enough to integrate his musical and theatrical
expertise into These Stories Saved My Life. Millard has
been appearing before audiences since 1953, when he performed with his mother
the late Maribel Millard, a leading lady in San Diego's Starlight Opera. Millard grew up in a musical environment, where he received training from his
mother and grandmother.
Millard expanded his musical expertise by becoming a multi-instrumentalist
who communicates expertly on the cello, bass, various flutes and saxophones.
A graduate of La Jolla High, Millard spent 1964 in Madrid, Spain where he
studied the Flamenco Guitar. Upon his return to the United States he
became a Luthier apprentice.
A Luthier is a crafts person who makes and repairs stringed instruments.
Millard has created instruments such as the bi-level guitar, and the
contra-bass. He is sought after nationally to restore cellos and bass'.
In addition to his expertise as a craftsman, Millard performs with various
groups including his own, KoKopelli Band, an Afro-Cuban Latin Jazz band.
On occasion he still plays with the Dave Millard Quartet. Millard
approaches music from a spiritual perspective, and has lived his life entirely
as a person involved in music, whether recording, repairing, or resounding its
powerful potential.
