PRACTICAL APPLICATION

 

Program Director       "Focus on Youth," an After -School Tutorial Program 

1998 - 2000

Comprehensive inner-city tutorial program dedicated to restoring wholeness to injured and at - risk children.  Funded by a grant from the Chase Manhattan Foundation and housed at Beebe Memorial C.M.E. Cathedral in Oakland California, "Focus on Youth"  provided  "latch-key" children a safe haven from gang related violence.  Enrichment opportunities  included access to technology, hands-on health education and illness prevention, one on one core subject tutoring, including field trips accentuating the humanities and appreciation of the fine arts.
